Hackers have successfully hacked the software of two companies, Digital Dental Record and PerCSoft, specializing in data backup to install ransomware on the computers of hundreds of dental offices in the United States.
The companies chose to pay the demanded ransom to allow their customers to decode their data, which took a long time during which they could not work normally.
This is the third attack targeting providers of Healthcare Managed Services Program (MSP) solutions, which is a global medical service.
This is proof that groups of hackers are on the lookout for the slightest opportunity to make as many victims as possible and therefore earn money. It has become a full-fledged business.
